Pampelmoose New Music Hour on Portland’s 94.7FM 11-25-08

Lauren of Ume
This is the Pampelmoose edition of the New Music Hour on Portland’s 94.7FM. I decided to settle on a theme for this one - female musicians - which is not as facile as it sounds. Just recently I’ve been thrilled to hear a new breed of female musicians bringing the alt-rock and fronting it better than the guys. From the full on shredding of Marnie Stern and Lauren from Ume, through to Sarah Negahdari of The Happy Hollows, I feel that these women are bringing a fresh burst of energy to what was a stale musical genre for quite some time. Have a listen then run out to buy this shit…
I’m on 94.7FM with resident DJ Squid every Tuesday and Thursday at 8PM. This is the show from Tuesday November 25th. For more local and Northwest music you can also tune in to 94.7 Too either on your HD radio or on the web. 94.7 Too only plays local and Northwest music, nothing else.

Ume - The Conductor
Susumu Yokota - Golden Years
Santogold & Diplo - Guns of Brooklyn [Doc & Jon Hill Dub]
