It takes pros to jazz up such a basic interview, so if TV on the Radio’s latest disc Dear Science or its entire back catalog for that matter has yet to convince you of the group’s pro level, this interview sure will. While the questions are entirely routine - ranging from ‘tell us about you’ to “how did you get together” and “tell us about your new album” - thankfully dual frontmen Tunde Adebimpe and Kyp Malone’s answers are anything but tried and true. They had me at the first mention of Jonas Brothers with a line about how they’re bigger in America than that chaste Disney trio… in terms of height. However, for those not so enthralled with the mere mention of anything in relation to Disney’s teen kingdom, then interesting info about the quintet’s transition from painting to tunes and encouragement to “boring actors” may be what nets you.
