babel - ambience meets unknown pleasures

babel

First of all the interface is minimally delicious. Love the vu meter. I think his crooner list leaves out Ian Curtis, but regardless the tunes are worth a listen. I wouldn’t normally post the entire bio, but in this case the description perfectly adds to what babel is about….

“BABEL /bab’əl, bab-/ n : noisy confusion

Babel, is the creation of Nic Eldridge. Babel is greatly influenced by the old crooners, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin but with sounds that never accompanied them during their careers. Babel, is composed with an orchestral state of mind but with the heart of rock n’ roll. Big, pretty, creepy, voluptuous sounds is the easiest way of describing Babel. The vocals, share reference of Sinatra, along with Jim Morrison, Johnny Cash and Nick Cave. The words are heart felt and at times can lean towards uncomfortable, but that is the point for why we share and relate to whats expressed. These songs, that you hear are recorded and are meant to sound as live as possible. Everything, that is thought of, spoken of and created has gone through a process of what I want to hear. In a time where perfection can be a cover up for so many things, I throw caution to the wind and create what I want. Thank you for listening and I hope you like what I do.”

Take a few minutes and check it out,
