The New Music Hour on Portland’s 94.7FM is dedicated to bringing listeners music, both local and national, that might not normally get on the station’s playlists. I am on air with Squid every Tuesday and Thursday at 8PM and all the music that we play can be listened to again on Pampelmoose and downloaded. This is the show from Tuesday September 9.
Tokyo Police Club - Juno [Ra Ra Riot Remix]

Great playlist! And this is exactly the reason I don’t listen to 94.7 KNRK - because they don’t play this stuff. I listen to KEXP who DOES play music like this, all wonderous workday long….

@Does It Offend You, Yeah
Things take a while, you don’t turn an oil tanker around on a dime. The way to make 94.7 change is to support their attempts to get new music into listeners ears. That’s why the station has added the New Music Hour every week night at 8PM. Also the 94.7 Too HD channel plays nothing but new music from local and Northwest bands all day and night…
I’m enjoying the 2 hours of time I get each week to play music and if the New Music Hour gets listenera and positive feedback the guess what? it will mean the 94.7 playlists will refelect what people want to hear…

@Dave Allen
In radio, things are often turned on a dime. One week I worked for a triple A station I loved (even though I thought the music at times was pedantic), and the next week it was a country station. I left radio after that.
But I’m glad you’re in there trying. Is your show a podcast too? Because that’s more likely for me to listen to, than trying to remember to be near a radio a particular day and hour.
