Fugazi’s Ian Mackaye On Capitalism, Bad Bread and the end of the Record Industry
August 10th, 2008 by Dave Allen
Here’s Ian back in 2007 extolling on his ideas of what exactly musicians should be doing when they think about releasing a CD. Example: He says why are you touring to support the release of the CD? The CD should be released to support the touring Mackaye says. Good point. Thanks to Rodger at Strange Beautiful for this one.

Ian and Dischord have had it right from day one. The ethic that Minor Threat (Fugazi, SOA, Teen Idles, etc) had was spot on, and the loyalty from the fans showed this over and over. The Dischord box set they put out a couple years back is one of the finest compilations of truly indie music I’ve ever seen.
