94.7FM New Music Hour Playlist 8-28-08

Dykeritz
In an effort to blend what I post here in the way of promotional MP3s and what Portland’s 94.7FM plays on air, I am joining 94.7 DJ, Squid, two nights a week on the New Music Hour to play the latest offerings from artists and labels. Rather like newspapers FM radio is not going away. Radio just has to keep experimenting with new ideas and 94.7 program director Mark Hamilton is doing just that by introducing the new Music Hour every weeknight from 8PM - 9PM. This hour is dedicated to bringing listeners music, both local and national, that might not normally get on the station’s playlists. For instance last Thursday I was able to play cuts from local Portland outfits, Blitzen Trapper and Dykeritz, Seattle hip hop crew Common Market alongside a live bootleg of Radiohead covering Neil Young’s ‘Tell Me Why.’ I look forward to exposing more local music as well as brand new releases from national and international acts. Below is the playlist from my show with Squid on Aug 28th. Next scheduled appearance for me is Tuesday Sept 2nd at 8PM.

That’s great, I look forward to hearing it. And I have to say the Dykeritz album is great. Glad to see you’re playing it.

Hey that sounds great. What’s the best way to draw your attention to new music?

Al,
I’m hoping to get a message out to all labels and artists real soon that spells out the best way to get music to me. For now though an email to info [at] Pampelmoose.com with mp3, picture and short bio will work.
