P.S. Since you asked---I personally relate most to Bowie's Man Who Fell To Earth persona, which would have been during the Berlin period...runner up for my money is the Earthling bit, which I thought was pretty inventive even as it rehashed his alien bit again.

Favorite Bowie story--him and Eno getting hooked on DEVO demos during the Berlin phase. I seem to recall hearing a rumor or tall tale of them loving the band so much they actually recorded a couple of versions of those songs themselves. The idea of Bowie singing "You got a pooty poo-poo" is priceless. Probably never happened, but I wish it had. And would LOVE to hear the results.

What a great surprise to find this covers many of his other favorite concert pieces....funniest line of the article:

"Oh, recidivism, that'll fit."

Bowie also once referred to himself and Eno as "The Gilbert and George of rock".

Funny man, that Bowie.

More on Bowie. By coincidence I came across this article that Bowie had written for the UK's Daily Mail On Sunday - <a href="http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1030121/DAVID-BOWIE-I-went-buy-shoes--I-came-Life-On-Mars.html"target=_new rel="nofollow">it's about how he wrote Life on Mars</a>.
