obama rocks portland, and the decemberists showed up too

The numbers may vary between 65,000 - 75,000 but Portland’s fire chief backed up the account that Obama had pulled off a record crowd, the biggest in the State’s history apparently. The Decemberists entertained the crowd as it streamed into the park after long waits outside.

    Awesome rally, with video, photos, and a crazy sunburn to show for it. Decemberists were perfect as usual, although I felt bad for Colin Meloy & Co. since most people didn’t know who they were and didn’t get hyped up and participatory like most Decemberist shows….but I’m sure they were cool with that…it was absolutely worth the 5 hr. wait for both the band and the (presumtive) nominee…
