iSlsk, share music files via p2p on your iphone
Eric Castro’s iSlsk new file sharing application for the iPhone has already been downloaded over 41,000 times, much to his surprise, allowing owners of jailbroken iPhones and iPod Touches to search and download songs from the Soulseek file sharing network. From The Listening Post
Listening Post: Are you concerned about the copyright implications?
Eric Castro: I guess nobody who ever made a P2P sharing application would feel comfortable with that question. Soulseek network was meant for independent/unsigned artists to get known in the music industry. Then, from Soulseek’s rules: “You should only share and download files which you are legally allowed to or have otherwise received permission to share. By using this network you agree to this and the other rules which are linked to from this page.” So anyone who uses iSlsk [is] completely responsible [for] the files they share/download, and [have already] agreed to its terms of use. It’s not our fault, nor our responsibility if users break the rules.
Which is rather crafty of him as the video shows him downloading a Radiohead song folder….makes my hosting of one Portishead file look rather amateur
