Uhmm...wow...just wow. Totally does not capture furry at all. It's aiming at 1% of what furries do. This "photographer" is crushing the truth and showing what they think is what furries all about. I wear fursuits myself, and not once have I had sex it it. I'm rather disappointed this is how we're being portrayed.

I am a furry as well, and though it happens, I agree, this is dumb. Even "normal" people have weird sex, and it's only some of the population anyway, just like with furries.

Most of the furry fandom isn't even based on fursuits and conventions. It's based on people who like anthromorphic stuff. If you like the Lion King, well, quite frankly, it's furry in it's most raw and simplest form.

What terrible sensationalism this line is, "Furries are considered the ultimate explorers of anonymous sex". I know plenty of furries who can be stereotyped in about 50 other ways, but not that way. Also, from what I've seen the fur suits are terrible quality.

My guess is this isn't really meant to be something visually amazing, just the artist's perspective.. which is common and not very thought provoking. Just dramatic and rediculous.

As a "furrie" I have to say this is complete crap, and THIS is why we bar the media from our cons. Because 99% of the photographers and journalists wanting in are looking for exactly this kind of B.S. and shock journalism.

Sure, I'm sure some people might want to try it at some point, but do you know how much a good fursuit runs? A least a couple thousand! I don't know about you, but if I had to pay 2,000 dollars or more for a costume, especially one that would be ruined by bodily fluids, I wouldn't let it NEAR someone in that kind of situation, much less sticky, grimy, or greasy anything!

Also, these things are unbelievably and swelteringly hot when you start moving around in them. I can't see anyone lasting through multiple minutes of sexual activity in a fuzzy sauna without suffering heatstroke or worse.

This is exactly the kind of press we're trying to NOT have, but what everyone seems to think we are thanks to this photographer, C.S.I., Vanity Fair, and MTV, among others.

Thankfully, many journalists that have been allowed into the cons alongside staff (like at Anthrocon), even the ones that were looking for this sort of demented garbage, were pleasantly surprised at the PG or PG-13 rating of everything around them. No out and out dry humping in public--no whispers of hidden "fur piles" in the hotel rooms. If they're even close to worth their money, they write a wonderful article about how we're friendly, normal people who just have a large affinity for cartoon animals.

Do we like sex? Sure we do--but we don't undertake it while wearing, for all intents and purposes, a couch!

Do we have random sex? Well deep down we're all human, after all. And humans do it all the time, so why not a ratio in the fandom that's similar to the general population?

You people need to get over this--we're normal people just like you. We're insurance adjusters, we're cashiers at Wal-Mart, we're your babysitters and your teachers. We love cartoon animals, we like dressing up to pretend we are one, and we especially love the company of other people like us.

Well, I guess it had to happen sometime. So much for being able to tell people that CSI was making all that stuff up!

This post made me think about the Daft Punk Da Funk video...will there be a boom box that can't be shut off at the exhibition? Da Funk is now running nonstop in my cranial jukebox. There are worse songs that coulc be trapped in there....
