China: The Future of Free?

Wired Executive Editor and author of the fabulous book The Long Tail (Hyperion, 2006), Chris Anderson, just posted an interesting piece on his blog regarding China and the future of music: “The Chinese music industry is at the cutting edge of finding ways to make money in every way other than the sale of songs, since the traditional process of selling music as a product (certainly CDs) is considered pretty much of a lost cause.” There’s tons of fodder there for the ongoing discourse here.
