booka shade !k7 dj kicks
!K7 is a label that can only be described as a purveyor of fine products. Almost ten years ago !K7 dropped Kruder Dorfmeister The K&D Sessions™ a compilation of trippy, stoned remixes that fast became the yuppie generations’ Frampton Comes Alive…[I couldn't go to any dinner party in Los Angeles without hearing it humming away in the background.] That’s not to say that it wasn’t a genius album. I was soon in a collect-the-set mode grabbing the DJ Kicks series of compilations from heavy hitting DJs such as DJ Cam, Four Tet, Smith & Mighty, Kid Loco, Thievery Corporation and Carl Craig to mention a few. Next week sees the release of a new DJ Kicks compilation from Booka Shade, the Berlin-based duo of Walter Merziger & Arno Kammameier who are mixers/producers as well as live performers. I urge you to check out the !K7 store for CDs, vinyl and MP3s.

As I wade through the other CDs I’ll be posting some more cuts. [...]
