iPhones kill bees

I broke down and decided that my future lust won out over my kindred love of bees.

Let me be the first to say that this little machine does live up to the hype. Its not perfect, but lets be realistic. Think about the phones we’ve been using since ‘97. WAP browsing anyone? Its been remedial at best.

My biggest gripe was lack of flash support. I’m sure it will come along eventually. The mere fact that a fully functioning version of safari runs here is amazing enough. Also no true GPS support…eh…I don’t plan on being unaware of my location anytime soon.

So, next big question. Is 8 gigs enough? Well, my last phone had 256 megabytes. Sure, it will be 16, 32, 64, etc years from now but i’m definitely ok with 8 gigs….Which brings me to my favorite feature:

Playlists. Its so easy to sync the playlists you want on your phone. Space getting crunched? Uncheck playlists you don’t want and sync again. Done. Its really easy to manage content going on and off your phone. So, I see it as super easy to keep a fresh 8 gigs on the phone while using my home computer as the master library.

There are other nerdy perks, but its really about the music right?

Sorry bees, its just too good,

Josh k

I’ve been on a new phone/provider hunt for some time now. I’m looking for a service that can provide a relatively high speed connection just about anywhere within reason (the city). One question I can’t get a direct answer to is whether or not AT&T/iPhone can give me not only a decent browser, but a fast connection to go with it…

  • josh k Says:

the browser is safari so that works great. the edge network, however, is pretty darn slow.

  • Nick Says:

Damn…I’ll probably have to go with eeeevil Verizon/Treo or Crackberry.

  • josh k Says:

    oh, they are all evil.

also network speed is great when you are in a wifi zone. fyi.

I still want one but because I’m a business not a regular Joe Consumer I can’t port my number to it….WTF!!

  • josh k Says:

in theory you should be able have your bill paid as an individual from your business outside of the “business plan” and switch your number. the key is to get clear of the discounted business plan. if you can do that, it should work…..but then i again i just gave up and got a new number. huge pain in butt all the way around.

I really thought it was lame that Apple went and cut an exclusive deal with AT&T - Conveniently while Cingular were in the middle of their name change (again).

I have no idea what you people are talking about…when are you going to blog about shoes or decorative wall stickers or something IMPORTANT?

I’m kidding. I just wanted to set feminism back a month or so.

I thought the bees were dying off anyway?

  • josh k Says:

well, now that we have the internet in our pocket we can venture out into the sunlight (gasp!) and head to the shoe store with decorative wall stickers, take a picture of the shoes and stickers, blog about it, and then scurry back inside.

Excellent plan! All because of your youphone! And you can record your outdoor excursion on the thingy and then I can repost it on the itubes!

    Oh fun!

Lest you think I used too many exclamation points, I’ll have you know mine are sponsored by Steve Jobs.

    iPoints! (TM).

this story in the trib concludes there is no evidence of bees dying off on the west coast. Not yet anyways. I love bees and hope this is true. Not that the i-phone can’t be a guilty pleasure (like bon jovi ’slippery when wet’)—it’s just a more cozy type of guilt is all:)
