sasquatch day 1 for me [written friday night].

Friday was spent guiding the mobile Moosehome from one end of the Columbia Gorge outside Portland, backtracking the river and corner-cutting toward Quincy, WA, roughly one third of the way along it’s length to the site of The Gorge Amphitheatre, probably the best place to see a show in North America. It’s not like I’ve left Portland behind as the city is well represented this weekend - Blitzen Trapper, Viva Voce, Helio Sequence, The Blow and the Dandy Warhols are all here. And if having Britt from Spoon living in Portland counts then add Spoon to the bands representing PDX.
Latest news is that M.I.A. couldn’t get a visa so she’s a no show; that’s what happens when daddy’s a terrorist I suppose. Strike one act from the list of must-see bands then. Otherwise the goal for me is to catch all of the above mentioned PDX bands and then in order of importance - Bad Brains, Blackalicious, Bjork, Manu Chao, Spoon, Neko Case, Saturday Knights, Tokyo Police Club and Interpol. The Beastie Boys play two sets and they are after all the Beastie Boys so respect to them……..

hey chris, due to Sasquatch production office sanfu’s I couldn’t get in (2 1/2 hour wait in line) to see the Knights and I’m extremely bummed. Let me know the next Seattle date and I’m there….
