This year’s fest was a little muted compared to last year when Beck and The Flaming Lips headlined. Day 1 was strong though especially with the Beastie Boys on the second stage, all pimped out in suits like the Blues Brothers. I have some footage of that to come. Meanwhile mainstage action included Arcade Fire followed by headliner Bjork, quite an amazing combination. Arcade Fire were amazingly consistent in terms of performance and technicality but their passion is what drills this puppy home - completely awesome performance all around. After that particular high it wasn’t easy to switch gears for Bjork who’s symphonic atmospheres and electronic mid tempo beats left the audience wanting more but the faithful stayed put and were rewarded with musical riches, she is after all beyond compare.
