pdx ripped #16, an interview with alela diane

alela diane podcast

This week the Moose is especially pleased to be able to talk to the wonderful Alela Diane who recently released her album The Pirate’s Gospel on Portland’s Holocene Music label. Alela discusses how growing up in Nevada City, CA moulded her outlook on life and how it informed her music and songs, how she thinks the idea of KEXP’s PDXplore program is a good one and tells us about new songs she has up her sleeve. In the podcast you will hear The Rifle from her album and also two new cuts - My Brambles from a UK vinyl-only album and Dry Grass and Shadows from the compilation CD The Family Album released on The Grass Roots Record Company. You can also view a video excerpt from the interview where Alela discusses her 10″ viny-only release in the UK here.
