kristin hersh and the first octave fundraiser, tonight
December 2nd, 2006 by Dave Allen

It’s that time of year again, time for the 2nd Annual Dirty Martini Holiday Party, a fundraiser for the Portland School Foundations First Octave Music and Arts in Schools Program. After the success of last years party with special guest Storm and the Balls, we are pleased to announce that this year’s very special guest is recent Portland transplant, Kristin Hersh. She’s taking time off from Throwing Muses and 50ft Wave to play a special acoustic set in support of the fund. Tickets can be had in advance from Virtuous Tickets (who we highly recommend by the way.)
Saturday December 2nd 2006.

Random but fortuitous internet find of the day: Chris Walla of Death Cab has posted a tribute to TM drummer Dave Narcizo on his song blog.
I can’t wait for Learn to Sing Like a Star.

You can get it from Walla’s site. I also found a cool Clinic cover, the song’s called Distortions and it too is available for download. [...]
