pdx ripped #4, a weekly podcast

Storm
I’m mixing it up a little bit this week. You’ll hear the usual fine brand of alt-rock from Wet Confetti and Viva Voce. Then some pickin’ from local bluegrass outfit Foghorn String Band, followed by the blues from Mark Lemhouse and a sublime Elliott Smith cover by McKinley and Dan Balmer.
1. Wet Confetti - Sorry Dinosaur from the forthcoming album Laughing Gasping.
2. Viva Voce - Red D-Lish from the album Lovers Lead the Way!
3. Foghorn String Band - Georgia Railroad from the album Reap What You Sow.
4. Mark Lemhouse - Edwin’s Lament from the album Big Lonesome Radio.
5. McKinley & Dan Balmer - Angeles from the album Others.

Foghorn Stringband is not a Bluegrass band. It is an old-time stringband. Calling them a Bluegrass band is like calling Muddy Waters a rock musician …

Muddy Waters invented Rock music…just ask Mick Jagger and Keith Richards…
