movie critics buy their own tickets

The internet drives another hit. Samuel Jackson’s latest movie, Snakes on a Plane appears to be less of a movie and more of an event. The internet has been teeming with spoof trailers of the movie for weeks and New Line Cinema canceled all preview screenings so movie critics had to wait until opening day, like everyone else, to go see it. Manohla Dargis liked it. Sony’s Howard Stringer, when asked why critics were not shown the movie in advance, replied “Nobody ever built a statue to a critic” according to the Guardian. It seems like another nail in the coffin for some, the Moose just isn’t sure who.
