23 Skidoo, aren’t they cute?
Putting together my weekly podcast has meant quite a bit of work as I transfer some obscure artists’ work from vinyl to MP3. My good friend Marcus Estes over at Tables Turned has been a great help as we mash the sonics together using an app called Audacity for the conversion. This week we had a major time crunch for delivery so I thought I’d grab an MP3 of one of the featured bands, 23 Skidoo. Of course, a band that last released an album in the very early 1980’s is not likely to have a website but a quick Google search brought up a couple of promising links. The 23 Skidoo Fetish Archive is an odd name for a site but that was were I was able to download the track I needed. I also found a glowing and effusive write up on the band at the BBC. And of course Google being Google there are some interesting articles on what exactly a “23 Skidoo” might be. God bless the internet and all of it’s tubes. Menawhile go here to listen to the Podcast.
