webvisions, red macs, am i a geek?

So it hit 96ºF today as judged by the folks over at Weather.com, but for a while I was in the cool (as in cold) confines of the Oregon Convention Centre debuting as a speaker for the annual Webvisions Conference. Only afterwards did I realize that this was a first for me as all of my previous panel appearances have been at very music-centric conferences such as SXSW and CMJ. And it was all good. A very attentive audience put up with the shakey start, but once my fellow panelists, Mark Baumgarten and Atakan Cetinsoy and myself warmed up to the occasion I think we did a good job of addressing the topic at hand - The Evolution of the Music Industry. Well, I think I’ve made myself clear on that topic in the past. Meanwhile if you are a Mac head like me you might like this site to help you, and I quote, Pimp Your MacBook.

red! dave! beyond the irony of having a red macbook that overheats…..who would spend the 500 bones to do this? who?
apple has come a long way, but they still need intel to save the day. we need power, but we need our effin laptops to not overheat! so, lets solve the heat issue before we get all custom. please!

aww, red is the new black. Or maybe the red appealed to me subconciously as I sat in the 96º heat on my deck last night…

It was interesting hearing you speak at Webvisions. Probably one of the few “future of the industry” panels that didn’t compel me to yell and stomp my feet angrily. :)

Best of luck and I’ll be keeping an eye on your blog…
