On the last Friday of each month Barbara Mitchell and me along with the KEXP radio crew, promote a show at the Sunset Tavern in Ballard just north of Seattle to expose some of Portland’s finest to Seattle’s music loving crowd. Our ambition is to have Seattle’s tastemakers understand what a rich and diverse music culture we have down here and to create a two way street by returning the favour and having the best of Seattle’s up and coming bands play down in PDX. Friday nights show featured Norfolk and Western and Laura Gibson and we had a great turnout. Stay tuned for more. And a big thanks to photographer Ann Fox for letting us use her images.
