On Monday, when I posted this beautiful video of the song ‘Au Port’ by Camille, I asked for people to send me any information they had about the singer. Tony Match, a composer and music producer, left a comment telling me that Camille recently received a French version of a Grammy and that her album Le Fil was licensed this year by Narada/EMI for USA release. You can buy the album here at Amazon.
It’s quicker and cheaper getting it from iTunes though.

In 2002 she released her first album Le sac de filles. She then began working on Nouvelle Vague, a project by Marc Collin which incorporates new wave and bossa nova music. In 2005 she released the album Le fil. This album incorporated an avant-garde concept - a string (”le fil”), which was a tone that persisted throughout the entire course of the album. All of the songs in this album are based on the exploration of the voice, with only a double bass or double bass and keyboard as accompanying instruments. Le fil quickly became a gold album.
