Summer in Portland is always fine, although I’m battening down the hatches for this weekend’s projected 100+ degree weather. Thursday night had some very eclectic musical/media moments; a parking lot party over at the Willamette Week, an interesting moment in politics with grandpa Potter hosting the PDX Pop Now! launch party of sorts over at City Hall, although Commish Sam Adams has to be given props for this one, and Dirty Martini playing to hundreds of folks crowding Main and Broadway downtown. Meanwhile I was enjoying the breeze on the deck as I continued to plow through the Long Tail. And then in one of those wonderful wireless, surfing moments I came across Josh Spear dot com, a very fine arts, music, design and finnicky gadget blog. Right up my alley as we say in England.
