ozzfest and the decline of the concert business
June 25th, 2006 by Dave Allen

According to a New York Times article in Sunday’s paper, Ozzy Osbourne’s annual touring juggernaut, Ozzfest, is suffering from declining ticket sales. It ssems the man himself is slowing down too as he is appearing at only ten of this year’s twenty six concerts. It’s not just the US market either. Over here in London I am hearing rumours that the Wireless Festival, that has been taking place since last Wednesday, has had to give away around 10,000 tickets over the first few days to bolster attendance. Tonight’s show, Sunday, is the only sellout apparently. And the Ozzfest’s solution to waning ticket sales? Why, start a Miss Ozzfest contest of course.
