After taking over the playlist at an afterparty the other night in an attempt to dance-it up a bit more, I cued up Franz Ferdinand‘s latest single “Ulysses,” expecting its disco-fied decadence to go down a storm. It did, but only so much. See I’d forgotten that its verses don’t only have a sinister vibe to them, but a silent one too; the beat just drops to a near inaudible level. Don’t even get me started on the super slow and super quiet bridge. When that happens, even the most willing feet stop their fancy work. Luckily, I’ve found a remix by Herr Kaschke that carries more kick and percussion than the original. Let the dancefloor assault continue!
