I nabbed Kathy and Hutch of The Thermals from back stage at the Doug Fir last night [12/5/08] and dragged them to an underground garage for a video interview. I had a list of four questions, two of which were pitched by Mark Lewman the Creative Director for Nemo. Lew’s questions were – “What is the gnarliest thing you’ve seen on the internet?” And “Tell me a fireworks story, everyone has one..” Kathy and Hutch both settled on the fireworks story. Both of their story’s are pretty gruesome.
They also told me about their new album, Now We Can See, which comes out on their new record label, Kill Rock Stars, in April of next year. It’s preceded by a single with the same title on March 10th 09 and meanwhile they are off to Europe on Tuesday for a tour..
