This is the Pampelmoose edition of the New Music Hour on Portland’s 94.7FM. I’m almost upon the final show of the year and it’s time to reflect back over the few months I’ve been able to be on air playing the best of the bunch from my inbox – music sent in by publicists, labels and bands themselves for inclusion on Pampelmoose and on the radio. It has been an experiment and I am glad that I had the support of my show sidekick Squid and KNRK’s Program Director Mark Hamilton as they have allowed me complete control over what I could play.
On Thursday’s show, 12-18-08, I played 13 of some of my top songs from 2008 – of the hundreds of songs played over the last few months it was difficult to drill down to what could be called my top 13. It’s a fair cross-section of the kind of music that has been on the show and hopefully you the listener have enjoyed being exposed to my wildly fluctuating tastes in music each week. Next week, on Tuesday Dec 23rd, I will be playing 14 songs from some of my favorite Portland bands of 2008.
