Am Syndicate, augustus pablo and mauxuam free mp3s, i like this, so does my dog

Mauxuam
Rufus the music-loving hound

This July 4th weekend I was spending time helping my new dog, Rufus, a 5 month old pitbull/boxer mix avoid being terrorized by firework explosions. He was abandoned to the streets before I took him in so he’s very skittish to say the least. So while he hid under the table at my feet I searched the ‘net for some new free and legal sounds. I got a pretty rich haul with some standout tracks from Beezy, Casxio and Crystal Moustache

I came across AM Syndicate, a band that I’ve only paid cursory attention too in the past. Their mellow organic/electronic vibes seemed to be a fine rejoinder to the rat-a-tat-tat of the fireworks and Mauxuam were splendidly moody and timely just as things quietened off and the red wine began to work its magic. Visit their site for a listen to their streaming player, definitely worth it.

Finally, as I was perusing the Motel De Moka blog I came across a cut from reggae great Augustus Pablo which took me back to the early days of Gang of Four when we’d sit around in a Jamaican club in the heart of the Chapeltown area of Leeds listening to the DJs spin the latest and greatest dub plate imports. Pablo passed away in May 1999 way too soon but his amazing work lives on. One of my most treasured vinyl albums is his King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown. The cut below is from Original Rockers released by the Greensleeves label. Have a listen.

AM Syndicate – To The Peasants of the Emperor
Mauxuam – After B4
Augustus Pablo – Cassava Piece
