As a shock to no one (including the bees and even wall-e looking back at our time), the iphone 3g goes prime time at 8 am this friday.
How would you rate your excitement level of this impending launch?
1. Bananas! (I’ll be in line friday morning)
2. Hot cakes (Hmm. I’ll get one after work on friday)
3. Pot Roast (I’ll wait until the time is right)
4. Toast (Whatever)
5. Stale Toast (Who cares)

I just got a Nokia N95, and it is has a lightsabre.
July 8th, 2008 at 5:02 pm#3 Pot Roast – but it would be 1 or 2 if I actually had some dough at the moment… (I wonder if food stamps can buy electronics?)
July 8th, 2008 at 5:07 pm#6: now that they have good agreements for corporate email support, work is getting me one. Shhhhh. It’s a secret. I’ll be patient and wait for the corporate agreement to switch from Verizon to AT&T.
July 8th, 2008 at 6:49 pm4. Toast, as in I got burned with already having iPhone v.1
July 8th, 2008 at 6:51 pm5. I have the itouch…the lamer yet more economical version of the iphone and waiting for the Iphone 4G which comes out sometime next year. None of you had any idea that the 4G was coming, did you?
July 8th, 2008 at 9:08 pm3. Pot Roast…but it’s deductible as a business expense so I suppose it doesn’t matter when i get it…heh.
@Dave–Chicago’s WGN morning news just ran this piece on how you can get the new iPhone for $17 (when it’s all said and done) thanks to a “cash for used cell phones” site. Sell your old v.1 iphone? Would be tempting if I were in the same boat. Here’s a link to the online version of the news report:

July 9th, 2008 at 5:58 amdemand is pretty average with this crew. i’d say the biggest issue is that with 3g turned on it will drain the battery twice as fast than with it off. so, when stevie said battery life was improved he kinda sorta danced around the reality of the 3g drain.
July 9th, 2008 at 10:38 am3. Pot Roast (I’ll wait until the time is right)
I have a blackberry curve, and have had many blackberries over the years, it does what I need quite nicely. However, the web browsing experience on the iphone just smashes the blackberry into the floor. now that the api is open and the app store is launching, i think the quality of apps available will also put a hurting on the blackberry… So, unless the initial reviews (and friends, etc) are horrible, i’ll be switching in the next few months..
July 9th, 2008 at 1:31 pm@Dave – what specifically burned you on v.1? i’ve heard all sorts of complaints from my friends, just wondering what your experience was?
July 9th, 2008 at 1:33 pm4-5… the iphone is still cool, it’s definitely a step in the right direction but really 3G should have been on the first iphone and it was a huge miss for them to put it out with Edge…. but then this is apple, so whatever tech they can hold back to guarantee they’ll sell more with the next version is fair game.
July 9th, 2008 at 3:36 pmthey are definitely holding back on the camera. slow shutter and 2 megapixels? weak. video could be a cool feature. i’m sure it relates to processing power and battery drain.
July 9th, 2008 at 4:05 pmmy saga started at 4am. a nightmare woke me up. my friend james was meeting me at 6 so we could hop down to pioneer place to get in line. everything was going great. we were like 33,34 in line. 8 am hits. the first 30 go in the apple store. the crowd of 500 cheers!…..and then……
…….nothing……the first 30 were sucked into a void of pain. the pain of servers being overloaded. the crowd hoped with patience that the first 30 would come out alive. in the end 10 people got activated in 2 hours!
the day started with so much positve energy……..in the end i got one at the bridgeport mall with another 2 hours of waiting. all is well.
July 12th, 2008 at 1:20 amAnd your old one? Still works right? People are using them as a super-iPod Touch
July 12th, 2008 at 10:35 amyep. browsing still works with wifi as well. everything but the phone service works
July 12th, 2008 at 1:42 pm.
@Jason, I didn’t mean ‘burned’ as in ripped off, just that I don’t want/need another iPhone just yet. The new software update suits me just fine…
