Ken lombard stole the ideal from me, that's why he doesn't have the vision. I presented the ideal to him while at Magic Johnson development corp back in 2002-2003. Comedian Steve Harvey & manager Rashaun McDonald set up the initial meeting with Ken Lombard & Kim Willis. The ideal was initially for Magic Johnson theaters. I have creditible witnesses & documents that prove it. Please contact me 2138045674 or email macyoungraw@yahoo.com for futher discussion. Thanks! Doug Young

Holcombe, thanks for posting that. You sum up exactly why a company like Hear Music helps musicians and in turn helps music fans discover new music. I believe that the intentions were good when Starbucks took over hear Music, the problem seems to be with the hiring of Ken Lombard and perhaps a top down approach to keeping Wall St happy....it didn't work.

In 1999 in San Francisco, I had just printed my first CD "Advertising Space." I was playing coffee houses in SF and selling it at gigs, and that's about all. Someone from Hear Music happened to come to a show - I think it was at a laundomat/coffee-house, leave it to the dot-commers to make me play over the tumble dryers - and next I knew, Hear Music ordered my little disc and stocked it in all of their stores. They included it on listening stations with a nice editorial description, and to this date it was the best distribution I ever had.

Without a very powerful and visionary person in charge, any venture that is assimilated into a large corporation will ultimately become a mainstream machine dedicated to profit. The real question is, why on earth is anyone going into Starbucks? They don't sell music, or caffeine. They sell corn syrup. All that junk is so bad for you!
