New ipod touch and iphones will now have wifi itunes. My utopian dream of previewing and purchasing music in a coffee shop has come true.
Speaking of coffee shops they also announced a new caffeinated feature. If you are in a Starbucks, you can hit a Starbucks button that will tell you what song is playing in the Starbucks. Neato I guess, but fairly underwhelming.

ok…I think I clicked refresh on the live blog about a couple hundred times, expecting something crazy. I wasnt necessarily unimpressed. I thought it was interesting how big of a player Starbucks thinks they will be with their strategic partnership with Apple. I like it when huge ass companies have so much money to try something new whether they know if it will work or not. I think the itouch rocks too. Unfortunately my free time doesnt involve an itouch just an iremodel.
September 5th, 2007 at 11:54 amI think the seamless integration of buying coffee and buying music says it all. Pity it’s Starbucks though, shitty coffee.. Glad I didn’t buy the iPhone now as I can keep the Blackberry and add iPod Touch for better web browsing and email if I need it..
September 5th, 2007 at 12:58 pmi’m assuming you can purchase songs through any wifi connection. the only nifty thing at starbucks is purchasing what is playing at the physical location…..unless i’m missing something.
September 5th, 2007 at 1:02 pmI think Starbucks content is exclusive to its retail locations wi-fi…from what I was told. which makes some sense.
September 5th, 2007 at 1:23 pmI don’t care. I want an iPod Touch….mmmm touchy, touchy.
September 5th, 2007 at 1:39 pmdon’t forget squeezy and draggy.

September 5th, 2007 at 1:54 pmnah, natural fan boy high. even worse.
September 5th, 2007 at 9:46 pmdoes this mean that all those starbucks cd kiosks, stocked with zero7, count basie, and kt tunstall, will be replaced by a wifi store that has nothing but zero7, count basie, and kt tunstall? And when the holidays roll around, you know that they will still have that charlie brown christmas cd priced to move at $25.
