For those whose ears don’t cringe at simple pop/punk structure and energized regurgitations of the past, you might just dig the spunk and liveliness brimming from The Holloways new album, So This Is Great Britain? Certainly this isn’t a style of tinny, danceable Brit punk you haven’t heard before (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and of course their forefathers) but, so full of youthful energy and spirited swagger, The Holloways—a North London foursome—might be worth adding to your collection, if only for a little jump up and down fun, complete with a ska backbeat.
The new album, which will be released on TVT in the US Aug. 28, debuted at No. 1 on the UK Indie Chart and charted Top 30 overall. The catchy, happy single “Generator†has been reeling folks in by the dozen – with a hook like this, it’s no wonder –
