Well let’s see, that was a blast. Almost 400 people turned out to see Boy Eats Drum Machine last night. Nice to see Danny and Brent from Menomena in the crowd and Alicia J Rose sitting in with the band on accordion. Great work from Jeff aka DJ Izm and Brandon aka DJ Rockatansky on the decks too. Also a lot of friendly faces from The Oregonian, The Mercury, The Willamette Week and the Portland Monthly. Any way the pictures tell all so go see them here. And also Justin Kent has a great set on Flickr as does Nemo Design employee, Kirstin Blair. And while we are at it here’s the Nemo Design Flickr Pool, chock full of photos. Come back later for the video….never mind, it’s here..might not work in Safari, as always I recommend Firefox.

[...] whew. dave said it best: “that was a blast“. thank you for the party, nemo! we should put out records more often… it was three parties in three weekends with cupcakes, mannaquins, miss murgatroid(!), and—most importantly—peeps kind enough to check our music. THANK YOU. [...]
July 30th, 2007 at 7:25 amLet’s do it again…
July 30th, 2007 at 7:57 amIndeed a blast. Yeah, how about a Pleasure re-release party? Or maybe a Two Angels mini CD release party? Thanks Jonny & BEDM for the beautiful music and tasty cupcakes. Thanks Dave and Nemo for the party and a great night all around! [oh, and thanks Dave for the 411 about the extra PBRs in the cooler :) ]
July 30th, 2007 at 9:16 amand we still ran out of beer!
July 30th, 2007 at 11:07 amYes yes, can you guys do another one? Best night I’ve had all year.
July 30th, 2007 at 11:08 amYeah, I’m thinking of September with DJ Izm and the band Little Hunks an almost end of summer party..
July 30th, 2007 at 11:11 amdave cant get enough electro pop :)…I say we have a perma-concert so as to stop global warming and pabst can delivery beers on a conveyor belt into nemo…constant beer and constant music til the end of summer.
July 30th, 2007 at 12:00 pmwhat a great night! much thanks to dave & carey for setting this up! I wonder if those nurses will keep everyone @ nemo from escaping the office? hmmm……
July 30th, 2007 at 1:35 pmso far so good, no one has left the building…
July 30th, 2007 at 7:58 pmDoes Alicia ever tour? Things seem to have been very quiet on the Miss Murgatroid front for some time now. But it could be that I haven’t been paying nearly enough attention…
Sounds like a great night.
July 31st, 2007 at 7:18 pmBest party ive been too all year. How about a Menomena/BEDM dual show? A band mashup? That would make my year.
August 1st, 2007 at 11:53 amandrea- miss murgatroid has been layin’ low for awhile. I recal her charmingly saying “you guys got me out of retirement”.:) she has a disc with petra that is unreleased. I’ve seen the artwork and it’s awesome. no word yet on if/when it is to be released but many fingers are crossed as I’m sure it’s fantastic.
josh- our menomena stance hasn’t and likely never will change: we’ll play with them anwhere anytime. as far as I’m concerned they are the best portland band since nu shuz. ok—I admit it—I think they are the best portland band EVER. period. sorry quarterflash….
August 1st, 2007 at 2:27 pmI think memomena and the dan reed network should have a face-off, though.
